Well-known musician and engineer, David Kauaikaua joined with writer and video producer Malia Zimmerman to form Sandalphon in 2021

Together they released two music albums, Angel Inspired, with 10 gospel and inspirational songs, and One-Eyed Cat, with 10 jazz and love songs. Before that, they released 6 songs in 2020 under Dalia Music.

A native Hawaiian resident of Kailua, Hawaii, David has been in the music business his entire professional life working as a music producer, arranger, composer, pianist, and vocalist. His specialties include composing, arranging, song programing, piano and keyboard, musical directing, composing songs and jingles, vocal and instrumental arranging, orchestral scores, band charts and lead sheets. 

Malia is a songwriter, documentary filmmaker, music video editor, and award winning writer. She had a long career in radio, television and print journalism both in Hawaii and in California.

Malia and David met more than 30 years ago at a Hawaii restaurant where he and his music partner, Tito, played music six nights a week. She was blown away by his beautiful voice, piano playing talent and charismatic smile.  

In 2020, the middle of the pandemic, David asked Malia out on a date, and they have had a great adventure together ever since. 

They often walk on the beach at sunrise, hike in the mountains, and take photos and videos of places they love.

They started writing music together in 2020 that is now on iTunes, Amazon and 150 other platforms under the name Dalia Music and Sandalphon.
